Q&A: Are there any viruses/spyware programs that disable your internet connection?

Question by Chib: Are there any viruses/spyware programs that disable your internet connection?
I think my main computer picked up a virus or something. And Shortly after turning it on, and going on the internet, the internet will mysteriously shut off. The light on my modem says that I have a connection to the internet, but nothing that uses the internet on my computer will connect. The only way to get another connection is to restart, but the problem returns shortly after.
What could be causing this, and what is the best way to remove it?

I don’t use Internet Explorer because it gives all unwanted stuff in my computer try using Firefox….If none of this solves your problem better call an engineer or the Internet connection people…
