Thus it is possible to: repair a damaged system, rescue data, scan the system for virus infections." Since it is Linux and not Windows that you will be booting into, a Windows virus or issues will not effect it. Malwarebytes is the most effective anti-malware programs I know of. It's also completely FREE! Take your thumb drive and plug it in to the infected computer. Then run/install the Malwarebytes software from the thumb drive. Once it loads, update it and let it scan. If by some chance that does not work, you can always wipe your hard drive and reinstall the operating system. Use a different computer to download Malwarebytes from malwarebytes.org to a thumb drive.
